Washington DC presentation/discussion – pencil in 3-5 pm on January 9th
For those in the Washington, DC area I am working up a public presentation the afternoon of Wednesday, January 9th highlighting themes from my recent “Ten Practical Online Steps for Government Support of Democracy” article as well as the “local up” approach E-Democracy.Org is developing to bring people together online to counter the engine of partisan/campaign conflict unfortunately being accelerated by the Internet.
The session will likely include a discussion of the theme White House 2.0 (based on my sense that this real e-campaign is raising public expectations for the use of this medium so high that unlike past elections, the next President cannot simply revert to a one-way online strategy once he or she has gained power) as well ideas shared the in the GSA’s excellent newsletter titled, “How E-Government is Changing Society and Strengthen Democracy.”
Pencil this in and stay tuned for details.
